The Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act was recently passed by the state legislature and signed by the governor. This law adds additional protections to mortgagors with respect to the six-year statute of limitations and with respect to situations in which a foreclosing plaintiff commences a second foreclosure action while a first action is still pending. There are many technical nuances to the law.
